Graham Jarvis Teaches You How to Pass over a Fallen Tree

When heading out for a motorcycle adventure in the wilderness, carrying a small axe is essential. Chopping some firewood as you go camping, clearing the road ahead from branches or even fallen trees that cannot be avoided, or even building a shelter in more extreme cases are only several uses for the axe.

However, this only works if you're actually traveling through the wilderness on a bike that has touring amenities. If you are out for a fun ride on a dirt bike, you'll be most likely only be carrying some water in a camelback and that would be it.

Still, regardless of how lightweight the bike may be, the trunk of a fallen tree that's blocking the road or trail is nevertheless a nuisance. In many scenarios, the surroundings will allow a rider to go around the fallen tree, especially as dirt bikes can tackle very rough terrain.

This is not always the case, and if swerving around the tree is impossible, going either under or over it remain the only two options. If the tree is not too big and if you happen to have some companions, lifting it may be a solution, just like pressing it lower to the ground to make passing over it easier.

Even this isn't possible all the time, and if you fancy solo rides, yours is just over. Unless you're Graham Jarvis, who seems completely unimpressed by the obstacle in his way. He approaches the trunk wheeling, and then carefully lands the bike's bashplate onto it, prior to jerking the throttle a bit and shifting the weight of both machine and body to the front.

And because he is THE Graham Jarvis, he does this two times, back and forth, making everything look easy as pie. Judging by this video, things ARE easy as pie: all you need to do is ride like Jarvis on his two-stroke Husqvarna, and the obstacles become a child's play!
