Of course, the 1913 Twin doesn’t come with the mojo of the mentioned Harley, but with a price 25 times lower, we’d say things are more than fair. And the Indian can be ridden in the real life, whereas restoring the Strap Tank and putting it on the road would rather look like a sacrilegious act.

A new motor with zero miles is waiting you to put some in it

The Indian Twin Cylinder was found in mid-80’s and was in a poor condition, with the owner trying to restore the rusted out tank. The bike had original paint, with an extremely poor patina and was sold as such to the next customer. The fellow faux painted over the original pain to keep rust at bay, later sold to the current owner as a rolling basket.

A complete overhaul was carried out in January 2015 and the Indian received a new engine from Johnny Eagles complete with a new Dixie mag. Everything works as can be seen in the video below, but CMC says that the bike could use some fine tuning and final tinkering, especially for the Schebler H-2 carburetor.

The bike is shod with Firestone reproduction tires, but they are the correct size, 300x3. The clincher rims with solid spokes are “apparently original” as described by the seller and the buyer gets a road test before handing over the check, Classic Motorcycle Consignments says. As for the tank, here’s the official description: “Sheet metal is original and correctly fitted except for the tank which is an excellent reproduction custom built from panels salvaged from the original tank.”

The 1913 Indian Twin Cylinder Single Speed is rated a 2+, with 1 being “excellent”, and a willing buyer could have it for a buy now price of $39,250 (€37,050).
