A while ago, we were excited to tell you guys about this Maserati MC-12 of only 50 ever produced that was going under the hammer. Its value had nothing to do with age, though, since we’re talking about a 2005 model. It was a great design and jaw-dropping engineering that made this two-seater sell for $1.5 million.
If eye candy could be a state of mind, and not just a way to describe something great looking, then this Maserati would have it. They used the chassis of the almighty Enzo to finish this beauty, but the final two-seater is much larger and has a lower drag coefficient. We’re looking at a rare breed that is carrying a 635-horsepower engine beneath that artistry.

Mated to a paddle-shifted Cambiocorsa 6-speed transmission, this dark beast would disappear into the night with a speed that few machines out there are capable of. Even though it’s a rear-wheel drive machine, the 60 mph (96 km/h) benchmark comes in 3.8 seconds, not to mention the top speed that sits at 205 mph (392 km/h).

They only made these for two years, after which production ended. The thing is, all but one were finished in the same pearl paint coat with attractive light blue accenting. All, but this unicorn. And guess what? the black Maserati MC12 has just 1,300 kilometers (807 miles) on the odometer.

Nevertheless, it’s got the same looks on the inside as it does on the outside. Open that door, and an excellent dark blue leather cockpit with all of the luxury accents one would expect welcomes you. Longer, wider, taller and with a sharper nose, the MC12 has faster acceleration, better braking performance, and a higher top speed than Enzo’s last commissioned sportscar. It’s no wonder somebody dropped McLaren P1 money to get it.

If you ask this editor, I'd say this rare beauty would make it in my top 10 list.
