MotoGP fans are going to enjoy even more of their favorite sporting series thanks to a new deal between action camera manufacturer GoPro and Dorna Sports. GoPro has thus become the Official Wearable Camera of the MotoGP, and the immediate result of this will be an increase in the number and quality of videos people will be able to watch online.
GoPro and Dorna inked a five-year deal so we can expect a ton of awesome footage including "on-bike course previews, behind-the-scenes vignettes, recording immersive race perspectives."

Enhanced track experience thanks to on-board cameras

One of the things that will make racing enthusiasts go crazy and wish to spend even more time at the track is the Media Lap, an immersive video experience captured by on-board cameras installed in the BMW Safety Bike.

We've seen similar attempts to capture the vibe of what racing around a specific circuit looks like, but this time we're going to get the very best, straight from the action video specialists.

GoPro will make such presentation videos for every round in the MotoGP calendar, and this is even better because they will be available for the new generations of riders.

Racing fans attending six selected rounds this year will also be able to interact with GoPro products and people at the exhibitions the camera manufacturer will host. So far, the six rounds where attendants can enjoy a hands-on experience with Go Pro hardware are Red Bull Grand Prix of The Americas – April 12, Gran Premio bwin de España – May 3, Gran Premio d’Italia TIM – May 31, GoPro Motorrad Grand Prix of Deutschland – July 12, British Grand Prix – August 31, and Grand Prix of Australia – October 18.

Last, but not least, Dorna granted GoPro title sponsorship for the German GP, which is now known as GoPro Motorrad Grand Prix of Deutschland. Enjoy the video after the jump, as it is the debut of a new era in MotoGP media, thanks to GoPro.
