Google is planning several changes for its music services, and these are particularly important for Android Auto as well, as such apps are used by millions behind the wheel too.
For example, Google Play Music will go dark sometime this year, and while Google is yet to share a more specific date when this is projected to happen, we do know that it’ll be replaced by YouTube Music.

So right now, every single update that YouTube Music receives is super-important for everyone on Android and Android Auto, as it paves the way for the upcoming change, while also resolving the potential problems that might arise once more users embrace the service.

More recently, Google released new YouTube Music updates for Android, and while no specifics are provided it goes without saying that additional bug fixes and performance improvements are included.

Google has been hard at work on refining YouTube Music on Android in May, and the company rolled out no less than five different updates last month, increasing the build number from 3.65.54 to 3.67.52.

The new build that shipped in early June, and which is now available for download, brings YouTube Music to 3.69.51, and it goes without saying that everyone is recommended to update as soon as possible.

As far as the transition from Google Play Music to YouTube Music is concerned, Google is already preparing for the move with dedicated tools in this regard. Earlier this year, for example, Google announced new YouTube Music library migration tools that allow users to transfer their library, profile, and playlists from Google Play Music.

For what it’s worth, the adoption of YouTube Music keeps improving, so at some level, Google moving all users from Google Play Music is something that makes sense moving forward.

Updating to the latest version of the app can also be done manually if you download the YouTube Music APK installer available here.
