Google Releases Google App Update with a Welcome Android Auto Improvement

Google has released a new version of the Google app that comes with welcome improvements, including one for a major Android Auto issue.

The search giant hasn’t released a changelog, but on the other hand, it has recently confirmed that it resolved another Android Auto problem with this update.

More specifically, the new Google app update brings it to version 11.8.9 in the stable channel – the company has also released a new beta today. Surprisingly, it’s version 11.8.7, so it’s actually an older build than the stable update.

The Android Auto that it resolves broke down voice commands and generated an error indicating an issue with the Internet connection. While the Internet connection was working just fine, users were told it wasn’t stable, and by the looks of things, this was related to Google Assistant.

Because the Assistant is bundled with the Google app, the search company resolved it with this new update, which means that users must install today’s new version to restore the voice commands in Android Auto.

At this point, there are no other details regarding the new version of the Google app, but most likely, the company has also included other bug fixes and optimizations under the hood, not necessarily aimed at Android Auto, but for Android users in general.

Google has been hard at work to refine the experience with the Google app lately, so the company has released multiple updates, both in the stable and the beta channels – the beta builds, however, are specifically supposed to let users test new improvements in advance and help the company further polish the experience before these are promoted to the stable version.

Needless to say, everyone should get the new Google app as soon as possible to get all these improvements and bring Android Auto voice commands back to normal.
