Google has been in a rush to add more capabilities to Google Maps, and in addition to the early version of the driving mode announced today, the company is also rolling out a trio of new features available right now for everyone on Android and iPhone.

First and foremost, it’s the information that we get about the regions affected by the global health issue the planet is still struggling with.

Earlier this year, Google shipped a dedicated layer on Google Maps to see how each region is impacted, and today the company is updating this capability with more information. Google Maps can now display additional details such as the number of confirmed cases, while also providing a link to local resources for each region.

Then, Google announced Google Maps can now be used to get more information about food takeout and delivery. The service can display the live status of your order as long as you make an order through Google Maps, and the update includes an estimate of the waiting time as well as delivery fees. This feature is available today for users in the United States, Canada, Germany, Australia, Brazil, and India.

You can know when to pick up your food, or when you can expect it to arrive at your doorstep. You can also see expected wait times and delivery fees, and easily reorder your favorites right from the Google Maps app. And when it’s safe to head to restaurants, you’ll soon be able to quickly see the status of your reservation in 70 countries around the world,” Google explains.

And last but not least, Google is adding real-time busyness information for buses, trains, and subways. Google Maps already provided users with information on how crowded a specific station was, but thanks to this update, similar data is available for transportation lines too, all based on reports submitted by users right from within the app.

The new capabilities are live today on both iPhone and Android.
