Good News: Fix for Major Android Auto Annoyance Already on Its Way

One of the latest struggles with Android Auto concerns music playback, as many discovered that the audio is cutting out all of a sudden when running Spotify after the latest update.

At this point, it’s still not clear why this is happening, and as many confirmed already, turning to the generic workarounds that previously helped deal with similar problems is pretty much useless this time.

So if you’re trying to get rid of the audio cutting out in Spotify on Android Auto by clearing the cache and deleting the data of the apps on your Android phone, it all seems to be a waste of time for now.

Google, on the other hand, has good news on this, as the company worked together with Spotify and a fix is on its way.

The company confirmed recently that Spotify is getting ready to ship a fix, but this would go live to users in waves, which means only part of the user base would get it at first. The rollout will then continue with more users in the coming weeks.

Thanks for all the responses. We informed the Spotify team and they are gradually rolling out a fix to address this issue. Please contact Spotify for more details. We recommend you to keep your Spotify app up-to-date, and inform us of any further issues. Thanks!” a member of the Android Auto team announced recently.

The bad news is that the same behavior appears to happen with other media apps as well, as some complain that the audio cuts out in Google Play Music too. So while Spotify is indeed working on a fix, others might have to roll out similar patches as well to improve audio playback on Android Auto.

For now, it’s still not known how many users already received the Spotify fix, but the rollout is presumably under way.
