Over in Japan, everybody is tuning the Toyota GT 86, but the Europeans only like to play with the Golf GTI. We now even have a German version of the famous Rocket Bunny widebody kit.

It comes from Ingo Noak Tuning, a company from Lusselsfeld that very few people know about. For taking the old Golf 6 GTI and giving it new life, they deserve a medal.

The widebody kit works just like the one from Japan. It consists of four fender flares that have to be riveted directly to the body of the somewhat expensive German hatchback. What's interesting is that Ingo sculpted them to match the panel lines of the front and rear bumpers.

The customization didn't stop there, as the red 3-door has also been fitted with carbon-look front and rear spoilers, a new exhaust system and eyelids for the headlights.

What's interesting is that Rocket Bunny kits are designed for drift cars, but the Golf is front-wheel drive. With the help of AP Sportfahrwerke suspension and mb DESIGN wheels, this GTI will not let go of the road too easily.

It's been years since the Mk6 Golf GTI went out of production, so maybe we need to be reminded about what makes it so good. The 6th generation was derived from the 5th, but the 2-liter turbo engine received a 10 hp bump in output.

The GTI is not the ultimate performance machine, but it is the best all-rounder. The spacious boot has a large opening, and the seats are comfortable on longer journeys. While the suspension is stiffer and shorter than on a normal model, you don't need to visit the dentist for new filters after every drive. There's even a comfort setting on the models with adaptive suspension (though this tuning project has no such luxury feature).

At the end of the day, it's the German badge and the promise of quality that attracts most buyers. Considering they're usually over 30 years of age, the GTI could be considered a toy for grownups.
