On the evening of August 24, Lloris and pals had dined at the posh Bagatelle in Mayfair. He also knocked back several glasses of alcohol and, according to his attorney, he initially planned on taking a cab home.

For whatever reason, he changed his mind and got into his 2018 Porsche Panamera instead. Police officers in an unmarked cruiser noticed that the car was driving erratically along Gloucester Place, Marylebone at around 2 in the morning. Not only was it going 15mph in a 30mph, but it also came very close to hitting several parked cars, prosecutors told the court, as reported by the Daily Mail.

When the officers pulled Lloris over, they noticed that he could barely stand and had puked all over the car. They took him into custody and he spent the night in jail. He blew a blood-alcohol test by a considerable margin.

Prosecutors demanded that he be made an example of, considering his status as a celebrity. Consequently, the judge fined him £50,000 for drink driving and issued a 20-month driving ban in his name. The Porsche had cost Lloris £65,000 Porsche, in case you were wondering.

“This is a very serious offense, as you know,” the magistrate told Lloris. “Not only were you putting your own life at risk but also that of your passenger. It was pure luck that you did not cause damage to other vehicles or pedestrians in the central London area.”

His attorney argued in court that his client’s “fall from grace” should be punishment enough for his DUI offense. The judge didn’t see it that way, it turns out.
