The BMW M235i is definitely the best car to come out of Munich in the last 5 years. And it’s not even an M car. Even so, the new Coupe proved its worth in almost every review and test drive out there, including our own.
Take the 2er to the track and you’ll get plenty of kicks, especially if you’re just a regular driver and not a professional who used to race in Formula 1 or NASCAR. Trust us, you’ll get the bang you expect for the buck you’re paying.

The guys from The Smoking Tire sent out their Road Test Editor, Zack Klapman to see what’s what with the new car, on nothing else but the world famous Laguna Seca. Looking at the couple of laps he posted on Youtube, you can tell he’s not very experienced on race tracks which is why he’s perfect to exemplify why the M235i is perfect for the amateur adrenaline junkie.

This car will allow you to have lots of fun on the track while remaining practical for daily chores and keeping you back intact, without shattering any vertebrae.

The 326 HP and 450 Nm (332 lb-ft) of torque the 3-liter turbo engine under the bonnet makes arrive exactly when you need them to and the ZF 8-speed gearbox does its job perfectly. Sure, the suspension could’ve been a bit stiffer to help out in tight corners and the brakes could’ve used more initial bite but overall, since this isn’t an M car, it does exactly what it was designed to. Bring on the M2!

As Zack perfectly exemplifies (even though he's way too quiet for a review), the M235i will bring a huge smile on your face, no matter if you're an experienced racer or not. In this regard, Randy Pobst reaction when he tested the car against the CLA45 AMG is a perfect example.
