"BMW is a company that builds cars meant to be enjoyed" says Karim Antoine Habib, head of design over at BMW Automobiles.
After the Chris Bangle era, BMW is now on the capable hands of Karim Habib, a Lebanon-born Canadian who graduated from the University of Montreal. Recently, BMW returned to the classic, brand defining aspect that made them the premium brand they are today.

The previous era was controversial, with design straying from the classic look of BMWs and going for something different. The latest models show how much work, blood and tears have been put in by Habib's team, in order to get BMW back on the track.

Design is a reason for being for the Canadian, that is what he lives for, that is how much he loves what he does. Being the head of a design unit, especially at BMW has its ups and downs but he is extremely proud of the team that is under his supervision.

The ultimate reward for a designer, as he admits, is having you work put up for display in a museum. That means that your design was so good that it has been raised to the level of art.

"BMW stands in terms of design first and foremost for precision. Precision in line work, precision in graphics also precision in proportion and everything needs to look precise. The other aspect, which is just as important, is emotion" says the head designer and we could agree more.
