You take one part ZL1, ad a pinch of Corvette, and you have the new Camaro for the 2014 model year, which will have to do until GM completely reengineers the car in a few years' time.

The 2014 Camaro does not reinvent the muscle car, but comes with plenty of stuff people actually want. For example, SS models have a vented hood, which in combination with a larger front air intake improves breathing. As the upper intake was no longer needed, it shrank and have the Camaro an angry look.

"All the styling and all the changes that were done, also were done with performance in mind. So a car that was already fast and leading on the track is going to get that much faster," said Mark Dickens, the Camaro's Program Engineering Manager.
