GM Sales in China Down 8% in January

We know that Buick currently makes the most successful in car, at least according to 2011 data, so when General Motors announced they’d sold 8 percent less cars in the first month of 2012, we took notice.

Their excuse: “There were three fewer selling days in January this year as a result of the Lunar New Year holiday. Nonetheless, GM recorded its second-best January ever in China. The automaker and its joint ventures sold 246,654 vehicles nationwide.”

Sales of Buick models were up slightly to 71,056 units, though they never mentioned a percentage point for this brand or Chevrolet. However, with Cadillac they had better luck, as sales rose by 18.1 percent year on year to 2,987 units in January. Leading the way was the SRX luxury utility vehicle with sales of 2,132 units.

You have to wonder though, is this a sign of things to come?
