General Motors has increased pricing for its brand new 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra pickup trucks by up to $1,500 as 2013 model year vehicle stock sales are nearly complete.
“The launches of the 2014 Silverado and GMC Sierra are hitting their stride and evolving as expected,” General Motors spokesman Jim Cain said last week. “With the sell down of the 2013 models nearly complete, this price adjustment was planned and is a normal part of business. We have the best trucks and they’re the best value in the market.”

However, Silverado and Sierra customers will be able to offset the new price hike through the end of October, as the automaker is offering $1,000 in cash-back incentives and $500 discounts on some packages.

Last month, GM sold 45,944 Silverado and Sierra trucks, down 10.8% and 1.5% respectively compared to September 2013 figures.
