GM Headquarters Turns Pink in Fight Against Cancer

Throughout October, Chevrolet and General Motors will recognize National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and as a result the top of GM's World Headquarters at the Renaissance Cente in Detroit has seen some striking changes.

The LED sign at the top of the building will feature a rotating pink ribbon for the duration of the month and the LED bands on all the towers of the Renaissance Center will turn pink to help raise awareness in the fight against breast cancer.

“Chevrolet has been part of life’s great journeys for the past 100 years – even the detours. Our Chevrolet dealers, customers and fans can come together to help the American Cancer Society create a world with less cancer, more birthdays and longer journeys,” said Alan Batey, Chevrolet vice president, Sales and Service, creating a nice little marketing ribbon around it all.

This month, Chevrolet has donated almost $30,000 to the American Cancer Society based on a pledge of $200 per lap run under a caution flag at NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races in Atlanta and Richmond. Some of you might also remember that a pink Camaro SS paces both races.
