GM Courtesy Vehicles for the Super Bowl

The proximity between the Arlington Assembly Plant to Dallas, the place where the Super Bowl XLV, is well to the advantage of the manufacturer who operates the plant, GM. Because of the exposure of the Super Bowl, any involvement with the event is a God sent gift, and the American auto maker knows it.

The American manufacturer announced today that it would be providing courtesy vehicles for guests attending the event, which takes place on February 6. Most of them will be vehicles produced at the Arlington facility, namely Chevrolet Tahoe, Chevrolet Suburban, GMC Yukon and the Cadillac Escalade vehicles. In all, GM will deploy 450 cars for the task.

“The Arlington Community has worked very hard to be a good host to visitors from around the world attending the game,” Plant Manager Paul Graham said. “We are delighted to play a small part in that effort through our plant open house next week and by making the high-quality vehicles used as courtesy transportation for the NFL.”

“UAW Local 276 not only builds some of the finest full-size SUVs in the world, but our membership is active in our community. We can’t wait to show visitors all we do to ensure they get a top-quality product from our plant,” added Belinda Langley, Local 276 shop chairperson.

Separately, GM announced that it planned to give back to the community in Arlington, by donating $130,000 to local charities (River Legacy Foundation, the Parkview Neighborhood Association, the Arlington Independent School District Foundation and the United Way of Tarrant County).
