GM Aftersales Changes in the UK

After the executive changes announced last week, General Motors continues restructuring with yet another appointment, this time of Clifford Walpole who's now working as Trade Channel Manager for GM UK & Ireland. Clifford Walpole, who worked for the GMUK & Ireland Aftersales division for six years, will replace Jim Williams, who recently retired after 44 years of service with Vauxhall and GM UK & Ireland.

"I’ve been in the automotive industry for almost 25 years and I’ve seen a lot of changes in that time. Having worked within the GM Trade team for a number of years now, I’m really looking forward to taking an even more active role in helping our customers and dealers through this challenging time," Clifford Walpole commented on his appointment as Trade Channel Manager for GM UK & Ireland.

"Jim has done an amazing job for us over the years and will be greatly missed. However we’re extremely fortunate to have someone as capable as Cliff to take over. His knowledge of the sector and the GM trade channel in particular will ensure not only a smooth transition into his new role but also help enormously in securing business for the future," GM Marketing Development Manager Aftersales, John Deed added.

As we told you last week, General Motors also announced a couple of changes last week, as part of its reorganization plan. Michael Millikin, 60, will serve as vice president and general counsel starting July 20 while from October 1, Alan Taub, 54, will become vice president, research and development. Chris Preuss, currently vice president GME communications and global communications will replace Steve Harris as vice president communications, effective October 1.
