Mercedes-Benz is putting its AMG test drivers hard at work these days, since this is the second time this week that a prototype of the upcoming Mercedes-Benz GLA 45 AMG has been spotted while being trashed on the Green Hell.
With its sights set on the Audi RS Q3, its only direct competitor when it will finally be released, the AMG version of the just launched GLA-Class has its performance specs pretty much taken cared of.
Especially since it will be technically identical, spec-wise, to the A 45 AMG and CLA 45 AMG. The three AMG models will share the same M133 turbocharged two-liter four pot, which is good for 360 hp and 450 Nm (332 lb ft).
The GLA 45 AMG is expected to offer an acceleration from naught to 100 km/h (62 mph) in under 5 seconds, while its top speed will, as usual, be limited to 250 km/h (155 mph).
Apart from the engine, the A-Class and CLA will also offer their performance-tuned 4Matic all-wheel drive system, which is basically all-wheel drive on-demand. The model is expected to be launched in the upcoming months, with the production version appearing in showrooms in Spring 2014.
