One of the manufacturers with a very good and constant presence in the segment of motorcycle accessories, Givi has just announced their latest holder for Apple's iPhone 5 smartphone.
The new iPhone 5 holder is in fact a pretty nice case which comes with a rain cover making the whole system waterproof and therefore suitable for long hauls in the rain. The case comes with Givi's original mounting clamp, presumably well-tested against vibrations.

The transparent film allows rider to use the iPhone's basic functions even when gloved, though we doubt someone will ever be capable to shut down applications from the multitasking menu.

One of the cool things about the Givi S955 holder is that it comes complete with a sun visor which is supposed to dramatically increase the screen visibility when riding in bright light.

However, it appear like Givi forgot about Apple's new Lightning charging cable which has a significantly smaller connector, and have kept the large cable opening of the S951 (iPhone 4/4S) holder. Pictures after the jump are as self-explanatory as it gets.

Motorbiker's French friends at l'Equipement tested the device and confirmed that the cable opening is way too large for the Lightning connector. Nice holder but for €45 ($61) Givi needs to go back to the drawing board a bit. Galaxy user? Grab an S954.
