Girlfriend Reveals Kubica's Condition Has Worsened

Although every single media report coming from Italy in the past week regarding the medical situation of Renault's Robert Kubica has been positive, it seems the truth is not so pink. In other words, the Polish driver is not enjoying the best of his days in the Italian hospital of Santa Corona, if we are to trust a latest report coming from Poland.

According to Polish news channel TVN 24, Kubica's medical condition has in fact worsened after the second operation he underwent at his humerus and leg, on Friday. And the source for this piece of info is none other than the driver's girlfriend Edyta.

His state has somewhat worsened, both in regards to his physical and psychological state,” said Edyta Witas, who also confirmed that her boyfriend was moved back into intensive care following the operation.

Robert has had worse days, but he is strong and he knows that staying in ICU is the best solution for him. His life is not in danger,” she added.

A couple of days before his Friday operation, Kubica was moved from intensive care to a normal ward of the Santa Corona hospital. However, following the intervention, he switched back to ICU, where he'll remain until his 3rd and final medical procedure, aimed at stabilizing his elbow.

Initial reports suggested that if all goes well, the Polish driver could be released from hospital by the end of the week and start his recuperation period in a private facility.
