Watching the San Marino Grand Prix race at Misano past Sunday we spotted Forward Racing boss Giovanni Cuzari in parc ferme, celebrating Loris Baz' exceptional fourth place and 1st Open rider performance.
Last time we checked, Cuzari was still in jail in Switzerland, together with several business partners and tax inspectors, his entire operations being investigated for alleged financial frauds. Seeing him in Misano is a bit strange, though in a good way, at least for the future of the team.

We ran a quick Google search but found no info on Cuzari's allegation being cleared, so it's rather impossible to tell now whether he's out of jail for good or he was released on parole. However, the most important thing is that Forward Racing has managed to scrape off enough money to keep up with the MotoGP season.

The team is also secretive as to how they are doing financially, and the last info the media received was ahead of the Czech Republic GP at Brno. back then, the team's manager Marco Curioni declared briefly that he was able to secure funding from new sponsors to make the trip to Brno with both the MotoGP and the Moto2 teams.

Can Forward Racing retain the Yamaha machines and race in 2016?

While we are still delving for more info on Cuzari's state, the fact that he was at Misano may represent the beginning of better days for Forward Racing. We still don't know if the accounts that had been frozen at the beginning of the investigation are now useable or not.

Even though Yamaha top brass said that Forward sort of missed the last train to get new machines for 2016, there is still some time to clear things out. We still have two months or so before the current championship ends, and we believe certain arrangements can still be made.

If Cuzari is clear of allegations, we guess that he will do his best to retain the M1 bikes, because they have already proven that great performance can be achieved. With the next round being less than a fortnight away, we guess that Forward Racing will put the pedal to the metal and try to get their act together securing the bikes for 2016.

Wonder what will Yamaha say in case Cuzari shows up with the money for Smith's and Pol Espargaro's bikes...
