Ginetta Founders Returning With EcoBoost-Powered Elise Rival

Ginetta was founded back in 1958, by the four Walklett brothers (Bob, Ivor, Trevers and Douglas) and the company made light-weight sports cars until 2005 when the family-owned company was sold to LNT Automotive.

Now though, it seems that the Walklett are back with a new sports car called Dare. With an expected weight of around 750 kg (1650 lb) as well as the 250 hp 2.0-liter EcoBoost from the new Focus ST, 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in around 4 seconds should be within easy reach.

To keep the car competitive, and give Lotus’ Elise a run for its money, it will be keenly-priced at around €38,000 (£30,000). Also, keeping in mind the brothers’ experience in the field, as well as the world-famous tradition of small British sports car companies making excellent-handling machines, we expect the Dare to be one of its better exponents, when it arrives next year.
