Ghost Rider, but With a Twist: Pickup With Fiery Trailer Tears Through Town

Now that’s a sight you don’t see that often. A pickup truck with a fiery trailer tore through the busy streets of a Thai town, in what could best be described as an extra scene from the Nicolas Cage movie Ghost Rider. But with a twist.

SWNS doesn’t say when this strange incident took place, but, as per a Fox Auto report, it was recent. It played out in Ubon Ratchathani, Thailand, and was captured by passers-by by pure chance. Video available at the link shows the pickup with the fiery trailer speeding through town, as if the driver either had no idea that his rig was on fire or not really cared about it.

As it's been shown many times in life, looks can be deceiving. Chaiyong Tangjai, the driver, tells the local media that, indeed, at first, he had no idea his trailer had caught fire.

He says it was particularly cold that day and, just before this strange incident, he had stopped to fix a flat on the trailer he was carrying hay on. “It was cold that time and I stopped for a moment to fix my tire, but when I drove again people were shouting at me that the truck was on fire,” he explains.

The reason he didn’t stop was, however, amazing - and you probably guessed it already. Because he was driving down a busy street, he did not want to endanger anyone or cause damage to buildings and businesses by stopping there. So he just kept on driving. “I didn’t want to stop the truck because I was driving past a school and a gas station, all of which might have been dangerous,” he says.

Tangjai eventually pulled over when he found a relatively empty space, and to his luck, firefighters caught up with him and were able to extinguish the blaze. The trailer burned down to the ground, as the same video shows.

On the bright side, no one was injured so, yes, Tangjai really was the Ghost Rider Driver on that day, saving the world one good deed at a time.
