Motorsport aficionados who frequently enjoy the perks of being awarded behind-the-scenes passes know very well that everything needs to look the part. Even the workhorse vans carrying every imaginable spare part and then some. So, check out the latest release from specialized outfitter MS-RT and decide if this is the right kind of Transit Connect for your track needs.
MS-RT is an odd vehicle customization expert from the UK, which specializes in modifying commercial vehicles from the Ford brand. A quick look on its official website reveals it’s only dealing with the Tourneo, Transit Custom, and Transit Connect series.

Well, somebody has to cater to the folks that want to look sporty while carrying a ton of stuff in the back, right? That’s what Ford thought this summer as well when it introduced a new range of rally-inspired mods with help from MS-RT, which is actually the street division of M-Sport.

The aftermarket specialist also sells customized Fords on its own, and it recently unveiled a special edition version of the Transit Connect. While the model is usually on sale for at least £24,495 (not including VAT), this time around its brand-new MS-RT Transit Connect R120 will start at £25,995 (plus VAT).

That’s $34,691 at the current exchange rate, meaning that you have to be quite the spender to fulfill your motorsport van dreams. Ah, never mind the irony, because the MS-RT R120 at least makes the choice very easy.

Just as Henry Ford famously said in its autobiography (to the salespeople, not the folks buying the cars) that “any customer can have a car painted any color that he wants so long as it is black,” MS-RT has decided that Frozen White is the way to go forward.

Just 30 examples of the limited edition will be available in the United Kingdom and six units in Northern Ireland, so exclusivity is another perk. Other interesting features might be the motorsport-correct OZ Racing alloys, along with the red and black rally decals.

The interior is also treated to leather-wrapped seats and a carbon fiber steering wheel (!), along with the Maxhaust in-car feature that enhances the sound provided by the MS-RT quad sports exhaust system featuring black exhaust tips.
