Get Noticed in 12 Seconds With the New Renault Wind

Creating a new ad for a car is not as easy as it looks. You might make a video of it hitting a mountain road, but the competition is doing the same thing, or you might feature a celebrity like Kylie Minogue only to see has “stolen” by another carmaker. Oh wait, we’ve got a better one: you can create a dark, moody commercial, only to have it all copied by Audi, music and everything.

As you might have realized, things get a whole lot easier when egos are not involved and that French light-hearted attitude is displayed. We’re talking here about a new ad for the little Renault Wind that we are quite fond of.

The 30-second clip has a touch of eerie to it, as all the streets are empty and there’s only one dog to greet the Wind when it arrives with the top up. Things change in just 12 seconds as that metal roof retraces and fold neatly in the boot, and every blind in the neighborhood pops up. Moral of the story: “Renault Wind. Get Noticed in 12 seconds.”

The new take on a French coupe cabriolet has recently received the Gordini touch, and now features the in-house tuner's traditional colors with a Malta blue bodywork and two white stripes. It also gets Glacier white door mirrors, grille trim and rear wing, and a glossy black roof, while the 17-inch diamond alloy wheels and a badge marked with a “G” completes the look.

The strictly two-seater model shares its platform and mechanical hardware with the Twingo, though at 3.830mm long, it's 230mm longer than the hatchback.
