Custom Victory motorcycles are a rather rare presence in Europe, but we know at least one guy who has made a name for himself in this field. He is Urs Erbacher and we reported on his bike-building skills before. He and his Fat Attack team got a custom Victory Hammer S ready in 4 days at the Swiss-Moto Show about one year ago, also having the bike auctioned.
Since Erbacher and Victory seem to form a successful team, the Polaris-owned motorcycle manufacturer decided to get involved at a higher level with the German. The most recent announcement from Victory informs us that the company will be the main sponsor of Erbacher’s Top Fuel Dragster team based in Switzerland.
Erbacher's dragsters will proudly display the Victory Motorcycles logo in three European Drag Races sanctioned by the FIA: the Swedish Internationals in Sweden on June 5-7, 2015, the Nitrolympx in Germany on August 7-9, 2015 and the FIA Finals in England on September 4-6, 2015. Additionally, the motorcycle builder-owned team will represent Victory at two of the biggest motorcycle shows in Europe, the 20th Anniversary Chambley Drag Power Show in France on May 2-3, 2015 and the European Bike Week in Austria on September 8-13, 2015.
Urs Erbacher is also a registered Victory retailer and one of the builders who are deeply involved with mysterious Victory projects. In fact some new mind-blowing bikes are expected to break cover later this year, most likely in November.
Frankly, we’re not thrilled so much about drag cars racing, but with stronger ties between Victory and big names in the European bike industry we can hope that the V-machines’ presence will also become stronger on the old continent. Can November be a hint for some Victory action at EICMA?
