This Saturday, George Clooney was spotted by Just Jared driving around Los Angeles in what we can only describe as an awesome American machine.
The red retro rocket is of course the C1 Corvette in convertible form. The ‘Vette has a major anniversary coming up, plus a replacement in the form of the C7, so owning one right now is cooler than ever.
Back in the day, these sportscars were built largely by hand, so the workers actually learn better ways to make them as the model years passed. This combined with the fact that the body will warp over time if exposed to the sun means C1s are pretty rare on the road.
The car Clooney is driving around in is the 1958 model Corvette. You can tell it apart from the redesigned front end, which is longer and has quad headlights. At the back, it’s still got the non-Stingray design, which means it was built before the 1961 model year.
