Gentex Is Shipping Mirrors to Citroen

Gentex Corporation, the US-based manufacturer of automatic-dimming rearview mirrors and camera-based active-safety systems for the automotive industry, has announced that it is shipping interior auto-dimming rearview mirrors for the new Citroen C4 and the stylish DS4 coupe.

"The new C4 is the first program awarded to Gentex in the PSA small family car segment, which is the largest segment of vehicles sold in the European Union. The DS4 is the second vehicle of the DS line introduced by Citroën, and we look forward to continuing to work with PSA as it expands and re-invents its product lines," stated Enoch Jen, Gentex senior vice president.

Gentex’s auto-dimming mirrors automatically darken to reduce glare from the headlamps of vehicles approaching from the rear. Gentex is currently working to fill approximately 140 manufacturing positions plus more than 100 technical positions, in order to meet the growing demand for the company's products.

The new C4 offers the auto-dimming mirror as standard equipment on the top trim level, while it is an optional extra on the middle trim levels in certain markets. The car is sold throughout the European Union, Japan, Korea, the Middle East, South Africa, Australia, and New Zealand.

The upcoming DS4 is based on the C4, but has improved styling and a two-door coupe configuration. Gentex mirrors are available on its top two trim levels and as part of a package on the introductory trim level.

The company is listed on the New York stock exchange and is a big supplier of automatic-dimming rearview mirrors, as well as camera-based active safety systems to the global automotive industry.
