Geneva-Bound Opel Astra OPC EXTREME Revealed

A couple of years ago, Opel launched the Corsa OPC Nurburgring, an extreme version of its smallest hot hatch which had been specially developed for legendary Green Hell. It developed quite a cult following in Germany and for a couple of months we've been hearing rumors there would be an Astra OPC Nurburgring edition as well. They were only half right, since the hardcore OPC hot hatch they were working on is actually called the OPC EXTREME.
A preview of the concept that will eventually lead to limited production has been released today. It's only one photo, but still enough to understand why this is an important car. The OPC EXTREME is based on last year's Cup race car and features a humongous wing, quad exhaust pipes and a body kit created for downforce.

The concept which is headed to the Geneva Motor Show previews a limited production model which will probably have 300 hp, a full roll cage and carbon fiber weight reduction. This is undoubtedly going to be the fastest street-legal Astra ever built.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
