While we don’t think the Bertone Nuccio Concept we just showed you belongs in this day and age, this designer’s dream is altogether a different story. At first we thought it was just one of those “let’s relive the past” sort of cars, but what Italian coachbuilder Touring Superleggera has put together is production-worthy. And no, we’re not talking about the limited production they will actually be doing, rather it looks like the Alfa coupe for the 21st century.
The red sportscar concept was created as a way to celebrate 60 years since the 1952 Alfa Romeo C52 Disco Volante, a car with which Touring Superleggera was also involved. But while the original came with a tiny 1.9-liter engine, this a 1.9-liter engine with 158 horsepower, this modern day version comes with the underpinnings of the best Alfa Romeo, the 8C Competizione and its 4.7-liter V8 engine, delivering 443 horsepower or 450 CV if you only Italian.
The Disco Volante will be put into limited production, with Touring Superleggera only revealing that the car will be coachbuilt upon customer order. So expect a long wait and a hefty price to come with the exclusivity.
