Mitsubishi isn’t the world’s biggest automaker by any means, so it has to rely on a couple of good cars if it’s to survive. The ASX is a decent crossover, but to really conquer the US market, thy need a new Outlander. Thankfully the replacement that we saw in Geneva is thoroughly modern and innovative.
The new Outlander which measures 4,644 mm in length, 1,800 mm in width and 1,680 mm in height will be thoroughly modern, and the automaker has even pledged to put the plug-in hybrid version into production very soon.

The new mid-size CUV features the automaker's new design language that is meant to turn it into a premium vehicle for the global market.

Powering the 2013 Outlander will be a choice between 2.0-liters MIVEC petrol rated at 150 PS (110 kW), which can be mated to a five-speed manual or a CTV, and a 2.2-liters diesel also with 150 PS (110 kW), available with a six-speed manual or automatic. These will be available with a stop-start and both engines are configurable in either 2WD or AWD, and while.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
