As the European automotive scene is getting all worked up about the events unfolding in Geneva, the Japanese from Mazda thought to heat up things some more and introduced, for the second time in Europe, their over-exciting Shinari concept.

With the promise of being just a preview of similar design lines to come in future Mazda models, the Shinari might be just what European customers might want after the emission regulations kicked the RX-8 off the continent. Built using the Kodo design language (loosely translated "soul of motion"), the Shinari model is not far from the remarkable lines of the respective model.

The interior of the concept has been drawn in such a way that it combines ergonomics with basic mechanical functions. The ride can be controlled by the driver be choosing between three driving modes (although no details on possible engine were released), Business, Pleasure and Sport.

“In our work to further evolve the expression of motion, Mazda Design has focused on the strength, beauty and tension found in the instantaneous movement seen in animals,” said Ikuo Maeda, the head of Mazda’s Design Division when the Kodo design concept was introduced last year.

“This motion that is so full of vitality that it stirs the emotions of those who see it. We have named it ‘KODO – Soul of Motion’, and our aim is to express movement with forceful vitality and speed as the design theme for Mazda’s upcoming models.”

Below you can find a set of photos showing the model on the floor of the Geneva Auto Show.
