We are all still eagerly awaiting the launch of a new Fiesta ST, but in the meantime the Fiesta Sport+ that was recently unveiled at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show will have to suffice. With this model, European customers will get an extra nibble of performance, spiced up with extra flavoring of go-fast double stripes.

The Fiesta Sport+, which is a limited edition model, is based on the three-door hatchback version of the car but gets some extra muscle in the engine compartment. The car is powered by a revised 1.6 liter, Duratec Ti-VCT petrol unit that allows the driver to play with 134 hp (peak power comes at 6,700 Nm) and 160 Nm of torque at 4,250 rpm.

The 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) spring is dealt with in 8.7 seconds (1.2 seconds faster than the 120 hp 3-door variant), while top speed is rated at 195 km/h (121 mph).

The modifications are not limited to the engine bay, as the exterior has been dressed up with a dynamic-style body kit, including a fresh front apron, new side skirts, a generously-sized rear diffuser, as well as a rear spoiler. At the back, we spot a set of new twin-design tailpipe, while the car sticks to the road via a set of 17-inch lightweight alloy rims.

Inside, the driver is greeted by sport seats with blue stitching. Meanwhile, the leather steering wheel, handbrake handle and gear knob, side airbags and Motorsport-branded floor mats and scuff plates are all part of the standard equipment list.

The model is available in Germany, the UK, Austria, Switzerland and Belgium, at a base price of €18,090 ($24,440).
