You've seen it in orange, now is time to witness it in a bright... white. The latest creation from BMW's M division, the 1 Series M coupe, has put on a different look for the Geneva Auto Show, where it is currently displayed.

However, the European premiere, two months after the model was shown at the 2011 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) doesn't bring any more changes. On the other hand, no changes are needed, are they?

The M flavor of the 1 Series is equipped with a 2,979 cc in-line six-cylinder twin-turbocharged unit, tweaked into developing 340 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque. If you choose to activate the overboost function, the engine punches, for brief moments, 500 horsepower. Even with the smaller output, the naught to 62 mph acceleration time is rated at 4.9 seconds and the top speed at 155 mph (250 km/h).

The model is currently ready to meet its customers in Europe and North America, where it will be offered for $47,030 (in North America) and EUR32,256 on the Old Continent, with the quantities to be announced by the German auto maker later in the year. Of course, the M will not be offered as it is, but will also come with a wide range of extras, priced accordingly (prices available for the US spec 1 Series M):

  • Premium Package - $2,400
  • Convenience Package - $2,700
  • Metallic Paint - $550 (Valencia Orange and Black Sapphire)
  • Heated Front Seats - $500
  • Satellite Radio - $350
  • Harman Kardon Stereo - $875
  • BMW Apps - $250
