The small-block V8 sounds amazing from the get-go, and in the case of modern Chevy models, active valves in the exhaust system help the 6.2-liter engine sing the song of its people a little bit better. However, there’s no denying that a cat-back upgrade gives the likes of the Camaro a meaner accent.
Corsa Performance is much obliged to upgrade the ‘Maro – be it the SS or the ZL1 – with a cat-back exhaust for the price of $2,063.99 including the 4.0-inch polished tips. Opt for the black finish, and you’re looking at $2,269.99 as well as the same “Xtreme+” sound level as the polished outlets. Though it’s not listed, the LT1 should be compatible with the cat-back exhaust system too.

Promising a weight reduction of 5 pounds (2.27 kilograms) and a flow increase of 4 percent, the aftermarket package does not contain AFM valves. Auto-equipped vehicles require tuning out the AFM, but most importantly, the system does not fit the Camaro with the factory ground effects pack.

Not legal for sale or installation on licensed vehicles in California, the exhaust combines 3.0- and 2.75-inch piping constructed from premium stainless steel. Manufactured in Ohio, the bolt-on system doesn’t require welding and each kit comes with detailed instructions and a lifetime warranty.

The RSC technology that Corsa Performance built into this cat-back upgrade combines an aggressive sound at idle and under acceleration as well as a drone-free experience when cruising on the highway. Taking a look through the instructions, some of the tools you’ll need come in the guise of a ratchet with a 15-mm deep socket and a 13-mm socket, a torque wrench capable of 45 lb-ft (61 Nm), a pipe cutter, penetrating lubricant spray, pliers, and an O2 sensor socket.

Customers who prefer something a little more restrained – namely "Xtreme" instead of the Xtreme+ sound level of the cat-back system – can opt for an axle-back exhaust. The $1,370.99 upgrade fits both the SS and ZL1, and as you’d expected, black tips cost a little bit more at $1,482.99.
