We all know that Chinese manufacturer have their very own quality when it comes to cloning certain models and launching them under different brand but this one seems to be a bit too exaggerate. Although copyright infringement accusations are not a new thing for Chinese manufacturers, what we have here is a perfect clone of Rolls-Royce Phantom expected to be unveiled at the 2009 Shanghai Auto Show.
Codenamed Geely GE, the car is way too similar to the Phantom, with the company's badge representing the only thing that could make a difference between the original and the clone.
Nevertheless, the interior features a thing that may surely catch you attention: a single rear seat, similar to a throne, placed in the middle and likely to provide enough comfort to make you feel like a king. At least, this is what manufacturers say, probably forgetting that all the other things are actually stolen from Rolls-Royce.
And speaking of clones, this is the second report in a week that tells us about a Chinese model copying lots of features of other popular vehicles. China's BYD Auto is getting ready to debut its "very own" S6 model, an SUV that is more than similar in appearance to Lexus RX. Just like in today's case, details were pretty scarce at the time of the report so, apart from the almost-identical design, no other technical information is known.
Taking into account all these things, it may seem like the 2009 Shanghai Auto Show which opens its doors next month is going to be a very interesting event.
