Gay Car of the Year Goes Pink. 500C Pink

After earlier this February a group called Ledorga, the organizers of a annual meeting for gay vintage car enthusiasts, announced it has selected the Fiat 500C as the Gay Car of the Year, Fiat decided to add a little more fuel to the fire by expanding the Fiat 500 Pink edition to cover the convertible as well.

Dubbed 500C Pink, the limited edition (one of the only few to be launched for the 500 line this year) is intended "mainly (for) people wishing to stand out from the crowd". (?)

After hearing about the 500C Pink, we wondered "why?" Was the 500 Pink so successful? After all, how successful could it have been ? They only built 500 of them... Luckily, Elena Bernardelli, marketing director for Fiat UK and Ireland explained it quite eloquently: summer is coming.

“We reacted to customers’ requests earlier this year when we gave them the 500 Pink, and I believe we will find a new group of fans with the 500C version of this limited edition car,” she says in a release.

The 500C Pink will be priced at £13,500 OTR, £1,200 more than the regular 1.2 Pop. Additional information can be found by following this link.

The 500C Pink is based on the 1.2 Pop trim and features the following features:

  • pink color
  • 16-inch alloy wheels
  • chrome trim
  • side rubbing strip with 500 badge
  • body colored door mirrors
  • leather steering wheel
  • leather gear knob
  • special carpet mats
  • special Pink key cover
  • split folding rear seat
  • Blue&Me infotainment
