If you care that much to know, you'll find out who the Gay Car of next year is on January 15. Until then, Ledorga, the gay cars specialist (yes, there is such a thing too), announced it had opened the voting booths for next year's“chubby-face.“
This year's contestants for this coveted award have been published on the organization's website. As it happened before, the organizers of this reader's award has tried to be as expansive as ever, and even listed some cars which, if you are to ask us, spell everything but “gay.”
On the gay side of the pool (meaning vehicles which might be considered gay by some), we have cars like the Alfa Romeo Giulietta, Aston Martin Cygnet, Audi A1, Chevrolet Spark, Mini Countryman, Nissan Juke, Peugeot iOn, Citroen DS3 or, if stretch it a bit, the Dacia Duster.
On the non-gay side of the pool, we have models like Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG, BMW 5 Series, or Audi R8 Spyder. We reckon these cars won't be the winners of this competition, but don't ask us why. It's just a feeling we have.
Just to remind you, the Gay Car of the Year for the past four years (out of a total of six editions of the competition) was Italian. Either an Alfa, or a Fiat, which means that for the past four years all the gay cars of the year were, you know, part of the Fiat group.
This year, the Fiat Group has only two names in the competition, the Ferrari 458 Italia and the Fiat Doblo.
