Garmin’s navigation and interface design will be perfectly integrated into Mercedes’s infotainment system and it is said to work well with the automaker’s own Advanced Driver Assistance system that includes the new Distronic Plus cruise control with Steering Assist autonomous mode.

In addition to the maps displayed on the dash-mounted screen, drivers will be informed with other important data, such as next turn and street names, on the main instrument cluster screen. The system will receive driver commands through the standard COMAND rotary controller or through the voice command function.

After Chrysler, Mercedes is the second automaker that plans to integrate navigation systems from Garmin into their cars.
