Nothing shows you care like building an awesome ride with monumental performance and more horses than two Marlboro and aftershave commercial combined (see how we introduced masculinity into the picture?).
That’s why Galpin Auto Sports, with a bit of help from SPX Corporation, will be building a 700-horsepower, wide-body Mustang to be auctioned at Barrett-Jackson's Scottsdale event in January. The money will go to a really good cause - St. Jude Children's Hospital - and Barrett-Jackson plans to donate all auction fees to St. Jude as well.
The bit we’re really interested in here is that wide-body part of the design. All we have is a rendering at the moment, but we have to admit it’s been a long time since we last saw a car, especially a Boss-inspired model, sitting on 22x11-inch wheels up front and 22x14-inch wheels in back. Those puppies look massive!
Pirelli tires that size cost a pretty penny, but if you can afford the car that shouldn’t be a problem. Yet we can’t help thinking that a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 with 700 horsepower on tap will burn through rubber at an astonishing pace.
The exterior of the car has been modified extensively, with added handcrafted fenders, a Roush billet aluminum grille, original 1969 Boss 429 hood scoop and Boss 302 Laguna Seca rear spoiler. Candy Apple Red Pearl PPG Paint will be used to cover the whole thing up, and a bit of black will accentuate its lovely curves.
Here’s a list of the performance features installed by the customizers:
