New electric motorcycle racing team Future Electric is seeking public funding via IndieGoGo in an effort to make it to the FIM eRoadRacing series. They are planning to run their own electric bike and they also claim it will be the fastest machine on the track, capable to reach 350 km/h (217 mph).
Now this is the maximum theoretical speed (MTS) in the high gear, with the same MTS of 280 km/h (173 mph) in the low gear.

The Future Electric machine is good for more than 200 hp and will do 0-100 km/h (0-60 mph) in about 2.5 seconds. While the actual fastest electric bike remains the Lightning, which rolled at 218.6 mph (351.7 km/h) earlier this year, the 0-60 acceleration is one nifty feature which can definitely find good use in racing.

Future Electric's goal is $60,000 (€43,630) and the money will go in a high performance liquid cooled AC motor, and a state of the art hub center steering system for one of the race bikes. The money is not exactly a fortune and we hope they raise it.

Now, these fellows are both smart AND funny: we loved one of their $500 (€) pledges, the Crash Debris: "All race team crash a bike on a long enough timeline, and our crash debris can be yours. We will put the crashed carbon bit, or bend rearset on a pedestal for you to put om your mantelpiece. It is better than porcelain figurines right !?!"
