Although there are a few details available on the Internet, Chrysler 300C is still an enigma for most of us, and it will remain so until the 2011 North American International Auto Show when the US-based carmaker will present its newly-developed sedan. But what we have here are actually the first photos of the interior which demonstrate that Fiat's American buddy has worked hard to provide a nice atmosphere to the driver and passengers.
A pretty spacious cabin, with a two-tone dashboard and leather all-around makes the new Chrysler 300C a little bit more luxurious than its predecessor. What appear to be wood inserts add a little bit of originality, while the traditional automatic gearstick and the large center console-mounted LCD screen are still there.
Even though it could receive several modifications, the same design is likely to be used on a future Lancia as well, with the model to be especially addressed to the European market where Chrysler wants to expand its business through its alliance with Italian carmaker Fiat. Of course, things are still secret, but expect to see the new Lancia at the Geneva Auto Show in March 2011.
Chrysler 300C on the other hand is rumored to be offered with a choice of two engines. The V6, a Pentastar unit fitted onto the Touring and Limited models, develops 292 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. The V8 on the other hand is a HEMI 5.7l with Fuel Saver Technology which will deliver 360 horsepower and 390-pound-feet of torque.
Pricing is likely to make the car a little bit more affordable, starting from $28,000 for the V6 engined version and from $38,000 for the V8 one.
autoevolution will be attending the 2011 NAIAS, so stay tuned for some real up close and personal shots of the vehicles, as well as for first-hand details of the motorized contraptions.
