FUSO Canter Eco Hybrid is a Hit in France

Deret Transport, one of the largest logistic companies in France and among the pioneers of electric mobility in the Hexagon has recently opted to order no less than 22 Fuso Canter Eco Hybrid trucks, thus creating one of the largest hybrid truck fleets in Europe.

As the trucks have already been delivered, according to Deret spokesperson Jean-Luc Fournier initial trips with the new hybrid fleet have revealed a 25 percent reduction in fuel consumption compared with “regular-engined” trucks.

Launched at the International Motor Show in Hanover in September 2012, the Fuso Canter Eco Hybrid is the first series production hybrid light-duty truck in Europe.

Sporting a three-liter four-cylinder turbodiesel engine that develops 150 hp and 370 Nm (273 lb ft) of torque, the hybrid truck is also using an electric motor that brings an additional 55 hp and 200 Nm (147 lb ft) of torque, thus achieving a passenger car-like fuel economy.
