Believe it or not, the Fuso Canter Eco Hubrid is the most ecological commercial vehicle in the category “distribution Trucks under 12 tons” in the whole of Europe.

This title comes after the Daimler AG won the “European Transport Sustainability Prize 2014” for both the Canter Eco Hybrid and the Daimler Fleetboard.

“We are extremely pleased to have received the European Transport Sustainability Prize. This award strengthens my own conviction, and that of my marketing team, that economical, innovative hybrid concepts are becoming increasingly widespread, and meeting with ever-growing acceptance on our continent, too. It thus comes as no surprise that there are already about 2000 units of the Canter Hybrid in the hands of customers all around the world”, said awesomely-named Pius Dettling, Head of Fuso Sales & Marketing Europe.

The prize was awarded by Huss-Verlag, who publishes “Transport” magazine, and came after a jury of seven representatives from the fields of economy, science and media evaluated award contenders in no less than 15 categories, including economy, ecology and social responsibility.

The Fuso Canter Hybrid uses a parallel hybrid architecture with an energy recuperation braking system and lithium-ion batteries which allow it to run completely electric at speeds up to 10 km/h (6 mph).
