With this very first commercial for the all-new S5 Sportback, Audi wanted to convey the emotional side of its design. A heart-broken woman bent on revenge tears through the personal belongings of her husband hoping to feel better.
With an unquenchable ferocity in her eyes, she realizes the Audi is the best way to get back at a cheating husband (what else could it be?). She grabs a golf iron and opens the garage door, looking ready to pull a Taylor Swift on the paintjob.

But her tears subside as the beautiful blue paint and inviting coupe lines are revealed. I bet that's the moment most men watching this commercial for the first time breathe a huge sigh of relief. After that, she just goes for a little drive and rediscovers the joy of life.

Such a video is never going to cut it as the official commercial in America, being all violent. But it's cute enough and puts the right kind of spotlight on the 4-door S5. She's a beautiful machine that just made an official debut at the Paris Motor Show.

You can read our full report, but in short, this new model is an excellent alternative to the S4 saloon. It's got the same powertrain, though, consisting of a 3.0-liter TFSI that's turbocharged whereas the old one was supercharged. Generating a little over 350 horsepower, this new V6 is capable of pushing from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.7 or faster than you can say "child alimony." Power goes to all four wheels via an 8-speed automatic, but there's a host of other upgrades.

Compared to the previous Sportback, the trunk has only grown a tiny bit to 480 liters. But the way in which the seats are positioned ensures loads more head and legroom. However, most women we know would have been far happier with an SUV in that garage. Maybe the husband can order the SQ5 as a "sorry I cheated honey" gift.
