The fact a Fast and Furious sequel will follow was, above all, a thing that everybody knew will happen. The official announcement of the crew’s intentions came last week, backstage at the 2015 MTV Movie Awards. Seven days later Vin Diesel told everybody the next installment of the franchise will be ready two years from now.
It took less than three weeks for the latest installment of the Fast and Furious saga to reach the $1 billion mark. It’s no wonder they are already thinking of another one. Hey, Furious 7 might have ended in a somewhat emotional note, but Hollywood is all about the green bills, like it or not. Time is money, isn’t that what they keep saying?

Paul used to say that [Fast & Furious] 8 was guaranteed and, in some ways when your brother guarantees something, you have to make sure it comes to pass. So, if fate has it - fate, F8 - then you’ll get it. ‘Furious 7’ was for Paul; 8 is from Paul,” Diesel said last week.

And it's him again to offer fans a new arrival date. The co-producer and veteran actor made the announcement the other day, during Universal’s CinemCon presentation in Las Vegas.

According to the Fast and Furious star, the next movie is named Furious 8 (like Vin Diesel promised), and will arrive as a follow-up to Paul Walker’s last movie. The next installment of the action movie will be directed by James Wan, the same who worked at Furious 7, and will be released on April 14, 2017.
