Full Trucks Season for Nelson Piquet

It's gonna be a busy 2011 for former Formula One driver Nelson Piquet Jr., who just announced today he will embark on a full Camping World Truck Series season in 2011. Piquet will be racing under the colors of Kevin Harvick Inc.

This past season, the driver had an accommodation run in NASCAR, having competed in several races in the Nationwide, ARCA and Truck Series. It appears however that the five starts in the smallest of the NASCAR series were enough for the son of his famous father to get in the mood for more.

"I am very excited to join KHI and to drive in the Truck series,"
Piquet said according to Fox Sports. "I look forward to combining what I have learned this year from running five races in the series with the professionalism and experience of the KHI organization."

His first start in the season which just ended took place at Daytona, a race which he finished sixth. In his debut in Nationwide, at the Watkins Glen International, he finished seventh, proving he has what it takes to become a serious competitor in the most watched motorsports in the US.

"This is a very unique opportunity to have a driver like Nelson be a part of KHI,"
said KHI co-owner Kevin Harvick. "In five starts in the Truck series this season, he not only gained valuable seat time, but proved himself by getting some solid finishes. We are excited to have Nelson as a part of our Truck series program as he takes another step forward in his career."
