While General Motors has received plenty of praise for the introduction of the mid-engined Chevrolet Corvette, we can't say the same about the 2019 Chevy Blazer, a nameplate that came back as a unibody crossover rather than using the body-on-frame SUV setup of its predecessors. Well, the rendering we have here comes to fix that.
Before we talk about this pixel portrait, let's take one or two paragraphs to zoom in on the situation of the new Blazer. Sure, the vehicle mixes a plethora of assets, from its sleek styling and its practical nature, to plenty of tech features. However, especially now that Ford has swept the automotive industry off its feet with the help of the new body-on-frame Bronco, it's quite difficult to overlook the crossover nature of the golden bowtie model.
And it's not just the 2021 Bronco that gives the new Blazer a hard time, as the list of proper SUVs one can buy in modern times also includes machines such as the Jeep Wrangler and the Toyota FJ Cruiser (admittedly, the Japanese model was discontinued last decade).
Returning to the rendering, it mixes the now-retro K5 Blazer with the contemporary Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck - the Trail Boss incarnation of the latter was chosen, as this is packing serious offroading abilities.
And while the front end is more detailed, we can clearly see that the work also integrates the Silverado's taillights, for a complete transformation. Speaking of which, we have to thank digital label C_ZR1 for this pixel portrait (pixel tip to 1320video for boosting the visibility of the original post).
Now, what if we were to add the Trail Boss' available 6.2-liter V8 to the equation? You know, just to deliver that sweet eight-cylinder aroma the Bronco is missing, at least for the time being – don’t worry, even if Ford decides to continue betting solely on the EcoBoost turbocharged four- and six-cylinder cards, there will be tons and tons of aftermarket conversions of the sort.
