Seeing how, this summer, people were willing to literally risk their lives to jump out of a moving car to dance, we may have found the perfect situation when getting out of your vehicle for this is acceptable. Yes, the car must not be in motion.
When you’re stuck in traffic, you can catch up on your reading or correspondence, meditate or rage at the injustice of it all, hum a song or bust a move at the wheel. But you can also take a more proactive, shall we say, approach to waiting: you can always get out of your car and get a little exercise by dancing.
One driver in North Baltimore is doing it and, what do you know, he’s already a viral star. Granted, it happened without his involvement: he just got out of his car and started to dance when he hit a road block. A fellow motorist, by the name of Erin Konheim Mandras, saw him, filmed him and posted the video on social media.
The rest is history, as they say.
“I couldn’t make this up if I tried,” Mandras writes on Facebook, in the caption to the video. “I guess this man thought it was a good time to bust out his dance moves while in construction traffic on a Tuesday morning... and yes I stopped to video it. #breakitdown #trafficjam #trafficsucks #fallsroad #baltimore.”
Think of it this way: this man’s idea of wasting time until the road opens is beneficial from more than one perspective. First of all, he’s keeping himself entertained, but also entertaining others. He’s also burning calories, since his dance routine could also double as actual, proper exercise. Last but not least, he’s fighting stress: we all know how terribly frustrating and stressful traffic jams can be.
So maybe he’s on to something, you know?
